Masterclass in Finetuning Experiential Techniques

Presenter: Dr. Kirsty Gillings (& Dr. Susan Simpson)

Email: info@schematherapyscotland.com

Website: www.schematherapyscotland.com

Location: Online Interactive Zoom Workshop

April 23rd, 2021 (6 hours active CPD)

This masterclass will focus on finetuning skills in Imagery Rescripting and Chairwork.  The training provides a solid foundation of skills for those beginning to use imagery work and chairwork in their practice, as well as providing more experienced therapists with examples of managing difficult and challenging situations typically observed in clinical contexts. Methods for adapting experiential techniques to online settings will be explored. Participants will learn skills in improving re-scripting and chairwork skills, whilst managing commonly experienced difficulties in imagery work. Furthermore, attendees will also develop skills in strengthening the ‘Healthy Adult’ mode via imagery and chairwork work. The workshop will utilise live demonstrations and newly developed imagery re-scripting and chairwork video teaching resources, allowing participants the opportunity for practical experience and guidance. The workshop will focus both on working with imagery in the context of PTSD, complex trauma, as well as early patterns linked to the development of early maladaptive schemas. Participants will receive handouts that they can use in their clinical work.
