Imagery has been present in several forms of psychotherapy for many years and over the last two decades there has been a major expansion of imagery-based theory, understanding and treatments.  For example, the profile of Imagery in cognitive therapy is increasing and imagery is a cornerstone of schema therapy.

This one-day workshop delivered by Dr Arnie Reed, will focus on imagery rescripting to treat adults with childhood related difficulties and complex PTSD.  It will include:

·        therapeutic underpinnings of imagery rescripting

·        the link between emotion and imagery

·        the link between somatic sensations and imagery

·        providing a rationale to clients

·        preparation (for the client and therapist) for imagery interventions

·        imagery rescripting techniques

·        a very brief introduction to Chairwork while using experiential techniques

This workshop will provide expert tuition and demonstrations (live or video) of experiential exercises allowing delegates to practise skills.  The day is aimed at clinicians who work with clients with complex PTSD and/or personality disorders or similar presentations.  Please note that attendees are not expected to have prior experience of imagery rescripting or schema therapy but should be willing to practise imagery rescripting role-play in dyads; this is not simply a didactic workshop.

Please note that a minimum of 6 attendees is required to run all workshops.
