About
Dr. Susan Simpson is a Clinical Psychologist and Accredited Schema Therapy trainer with over 20 years of experience using schema therapy with complex problems and eating disorders. She works at the Regional Eating Disorders Unit near Edinburgh, Scotland, and has set up the first schema therapy training program to be based in Scotland (Schema Therapy Scotland). She regularly runs Schema Therapy workshops in Australia and the UK that form part of an internationally accredited Schema Therapy Certification programme. For the past 6 years she was Senior Lecturer and Psychology Clinic Director at the University of South Australia, and prior to that was Lead Consultant Psychologist in a specialist eating disorder service in north-east Scotland for 15 years. She has published several research papers on group and individual Schema Therapy for complex eating disorders, and is part of an international research group that is currently carrying out preliminary investigations into the effectiveness of group Schema Therapy for eating disorders and individual Schema Therapy for severe Anorexia Nervosa.
